...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Alabama
based on forecasts from the Tennessee Valley Authority...
Tennessee River AT Whitesburg affecting Madison...Marshall and
Morgan Counties
The Flood Warning continues for
The Tennessee River AT Whitesburg.
* Until Tuesday evening.
* At 2 PM Friday the stage was 19.8 feet.
* Flood Stage is 17.0 feet.
* Minor Flooding is occurring and Moderate Flooding is forecast by
the Tennessee Valley Authority.
* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at
2 PM Friday was 19.8 feet.
* Impact...At 21.0 feet...Backwater causes flooding on Redstone
Arsenal. Significant flooding is occurring on the Morgan County
side of the river with hundreds of acres and several homes and
roads flooded.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 19.5 feet
on Mar 11 2011.

Safety message...
Do not attempt to drive through a flooded road. The depth of water is
not always obvious. As little as two feet of water will carry most
cars away. Also, the road bed may be washed out under the water, and
you could be stranded or trapped.
Interests along the Tennessee River should remain alert to rapidly
changing river conditions, and stay tuned for later forecast updates
from the Tennessee Valley Authority and the National Weather Service
forecast office in Huntsville.

Paint Rock River NEAR Woodville affecting Jackson...Madison and
Marshall Counties
The Flood Warning continues for
the Paint Rock River NEAR Woodville.
* until Wednesday afternoon.
* At 3 PM Friday the stage was 17.2 feet and falling.
* Flood Stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor Flooding is occurring and Moderate Flooding is forecast.
* Recent activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at
3 PM Friday was 17.9 feet.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 19.0 feet by
early tomorrow evening. The river will fall below Flood Stage
Wednesday morning.
* Impact...At 19.0 feet...Water is covering Alabama State Route 65
about two miles north of U.S. Highway 72. Several County Roads in
Paint Rock Valley are flooded...including Jackson County Road 20.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 18.7 feet
on Dec 29 2018.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING...
The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* Portions of Alabama and southern middle Tennessee, including
the following areas, in Alabama, Colbert, Cullman, DeKalb,
Franklin AL, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone,
Madison, Marshall, and Morgan. In southern middle Tennessee,
Franklin TN, Lincoln, and Moore.
* Through late tonight
* Showers and a few thunderstorms are expected to redevelop
tonight, with locally heavy rainfall possible. Given the already
saturated soils, any additional rain will fall as runoff and
lead to the continued threat for flash flooding. Additional
rainfall amounts of up to 2 inches are possible, especially over
northwest Alabama.
* Residents should make preparations now if they live in a flood
prone area.

Information:
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
You should continue to monitor forecasts and be prepared to take
action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
